A slant on a classical meadow garden for a house in Bath.

The couple that commissioned this garden already have a beautiful garden plus are keen gardeners and art collectors with sculpture in the garden.

This area is right at the bottom of the garden and the husband wanted a wild meadow whilst his wife wanted it to be neater and more formal. To save the marriage, we created a meadow within two formal stone containers. These boxes are made to the dimensions of the ‘golden ratio’ to frame the meadows in the same proportion as art.
