The renovation of a Victorian Walled Garden at a country house in the Cotswolds.
We were asked to renovate the vegetable garden of a newly built large house in the Cotswolds. The walled garden is the old fruit garden of a prestigious school, but had been allowed to fall into disrepair. We made good the brick work where it had failed and added elements such as making the driveway to a cottage on the estate which involved constructing a new entrance off of the road to give room to turn into the property before stopping to open the gates.
We made raised oak beds in a formal layout for the vegetable garden with sufficient paths to be able to move around happily with a wheel barrow.
Linear beds were made and a herringbone brick path installed to give access to espallied fruit along the wall.
Timber green houses were installed.
